For over half a century the NPS Aerolab® Low Speed Wind Tunnel located in Halligan Hall of the Naval Postgraduate school has served to provide students and faculty with meaningful aerodynamic data for research and problem analysis. New data acquisition hardware was installed three years ago but never fully verified, and contained no integrated software program to collect data from the strain-gauge balance pedestal. Existing National Instruments based hardware for the NPS low-speed wind tunnel was reconfigured to obtain data from the strain-gauge pedestal. Additionally, a data acquisition software program was written in LabVIEW© to accommodate the hardware. The Virtual Instruments (VI) program collects and plots accurate data from all four strain gauges in real-time, producing non-dimensional force and moment coefficients. A research study on the performance of an OH-6A helicopter fuselage was conducted. NPS Aerolab® wind tunnel tests consisted of drag, lift, and pitching moment measurements of the OH-6A along yaw and angle-of-attack sweeps. The results of the NPS wind tunnel data were compared against testing conducted on a full-scale OH-6A helicopter in NASA Ames’ 40 ft. x 80ft. wind tunnel, along with the U.S. Army’s Light Observation Helicopter (LOH) wind tunnel tests. Testing circuits is a hands-on, time intensive process; it is also one of the most important steps in a design cycle. The most well designed circuit is only an academic exercise if it does not work in real life. The time and cost associated with bench level testing pales in comparison to testing for extreme environments. Testing in extreme heat, cold or radiation introduces a large set of challenges that are rarely encountered in standard bench level testing. The two most pronounced problems are the inaccessibility of the devices under test and time constraints, both short and protracted. Due to the physical properties of devices and circuits there is a short window in which all testing must be conducted for each incremental step during extreme environment tests. This time requirement does not present a significant challenge when testing a single circuit or device, but the cost associated with this testing is enough to encourage a more efficient method. The primary goal of this work is to reduce the time required to perform tests through the use of automation and parallel test schemes. The automation software chosen for this project was LabVIEW. LabVIEW is a graphical based programming language with an extensive library of functions for interfacing with test instrumentation. Due to the graphical nature of this language, display of measurement data is essentially a byproduct of the program. This allowed for confirmation of proper operation and immediate rectification if a problem was discovered. This paper will cover the key parameters of common devices and circuits, methods for extracting these parameters from other prevailing effect, and methods for automating these tests through the use of computer based tools such as LabVIEW

In today’s scenario, it is seen that equipments used to measure temperature, pressure and displacement have gained considerable importance and are widely used all over the world. So, a project is being done by us wherein various physical parameters like temperature (heat), displacement, force (pressure) and other such physical quantities are being converted to proportional electrical signals using an electrical transducer and being measured. The process of transforming signal from one form to another is called transduction. This is the principle which is being implemented in this project

Our project is divided into three parts
O_O Measurement and control of temperature
O_O Measurement of pressure
O_O Measurement of displacement

This project has many applications in day to day life and in power stations as said before, but to demonstrate it to you, it is done in the following way
O_O Measuring and controlling the temperature of a 60W bulb
O_O Measuring the pressure of a cycle pump
O_O Measuring the displacement of an iron rod which is moved manually

For the purpose of achieving the above, many types of software and circuits are used like LabVIEW, Eagle, Multisim, amplifier circuit, power supply circuit etc. The electrical signal can be a voltage or a current signal. The advantages of using an electrical signal are that, it can be attenuated or amplified according to our convenience to calibrate the instrument for most accurate measurements. In this project, Linear Variable Displacement Transformer (LVDT) is being used for the measurement of displacement; LM35 sensor for the measurement of temperature and MPX5999D sensor for the measurement of pressure various op amps for measuring pressure and temperature. Before implementing these ideas directly into making the hardware design, software simulation of the same is being done using LabVIEW software. For this purpose, Data Acquisition card (DAQ) and USB 6008 port are being used. These devices link the external input to the software. The result is obtained in the form of proportional electrical signal i.e. voltage. This voltage is manipulated to directly give the temperature or pressure or displacement, whichever is being measured

This report outlines the approaches taken in the design and development of an accelerometer based personal trainer system. The idea of using accelerometers to monitor human movement is one that is currently becoming quite popular. It is mainly used to monitor the movement of elderly people but is also starting to expand into the area of physical exercise and sport. This report contains an in-depth insight into how such a system is implemented and what kind of results may be obtained from it. The goals of this report are to create a personal trainer system that uses an accelerometer to measure, record and supply feedback on a runner’s movement. The runner will have the ability to view information on the acquired speeds and the distances covered, and use this to monitor his/her improvement. The reason for designing such a system is to attract people into the area of using running as a form of exercise. It is also an attractive tool for somebody already interested in this area that may use it for further improvement. The results obtained proved to be mixed and are explained in detail in the report. The two methods that were developed in order to realize the system are explained and compared in full detail. The main goal of the project is reached successfully

Virtual Instrumentation is the use of customizable software and modular measurement hardware to create user-defined measurement systems, called virtual instruments. The concept of a synthetic instrument is a subset of the virtual instrument concept. A synthetic instrument is a kind of virtual instrument that is purely software defined. A synthetic instrument performs a specific synthesis, analysis, or measurement function on completely generic, measurement agnostic hardware. Virtual instruments can still have measurement specific hardware, and tend to emphasize modular hardware approaches that facilitate this specificity. Hardware supporting synthetic instruments is by definition not specific to the measurement, nor is it necessarily (or usually) modular. Leveraging commercially available technologies, such as the PC and the analog to digital converter, virtual instrumentation has grown significantly since its inception in the late 1970s. Additionally, software packages like National Instruments' Lab VIEW and other graphical programming languages helped grow adoption by making it easier for non-programmers to develop systems

Distributed digital arrays have many potential applications in radar and communication systems. The objective of this thesis is to re-examine previous research on distributed digital array radar (DDAR) and evaluate several critical aspects of a proposed wireless architecture. Self-standing transmit/receive (T/R) modules are synchronized wirelessly. An important issue addressed in this thesis is whether a simple low-cost synchronization circuit would perform adequately. To this end two breadboard T/R modules were built to support test and evaluation. Both measurements and simulations were performed. Other issues addressed in the research include a comprehensive investigation of the demodulator performance and the development of Controller and processing software in LabVIEW

کسی در رابطه با object detection و object tracking (تشخیص و ردیابی شئ در یک تصویر زنده که به کمک یک دوربین گرفته میشه ) اطلاعاتی داره یا مرجعی میشناسه ؟
